Fact #4: Hebrew Sofits

Short Video · Bible 101

Sofits are a special form of a Hebrew letter.

A sofit is a special form of a Hebrew letter. There are 5 letters in the Hebrew Alphabet that have a sofit, or final form: Kaph, Mem, Nun, Pey, and Tzaddi. This special form is only used when one of these letters appears at the very end of a Hebrew word.

Why Sofits Matter for Your Study
Why focus on a small grammatical rule? Because it shows the incredible detail and intentional structure of the Biblical languages. This is a key part of Biblical literacy. At Just Word Ministries, we show you why these details matter. They demonstrate that the Word of God is precise and purposeful. Understanding this structure is one of the Bible study tools that builds your confidence in the text, leading to a deeper Bible study as you learn to trust how the Bible was written.
