Knowledge

Knowledge in Hebrew includes Daleth, a picture of a door, and Ayin, a picture of an eye. God’s picture of knowledge is about an experience beyond the door, so when we have knowledge we can go past the door to obtain the facts and have an experience beyond that door. The door that gives us access to God is His word and if we reverence God and are wise enough to look to Him through His word, we can gain true knowledge from Him. Proverbs 1:7 teaches us, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” and Proverbs 9:10 adds, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

The knowledge that we gain from having an experience with God and His word is far more important than any earthly knowledge we could ever receive. When we get into the word, we get knowledge of God and understanding that helps us use His wisdom in our everyday lives. Through His Word we increase in our knowledge of God and the things of God, not just so we know facts, but so we can know God, apply what we know, and truly experience Him.
