What Is Instruction?
| What is Instruction? Instruction in the Old Testament is from the Hebrew word mûsār. When you look at the pictures that the Hebrew letters are derived from instruction speaks of “might and multiplicity that is given to support man.” When you break down the English word instruction there are two words to consider. The first word “in” speaks of something being internal, and the second word “structure” speaks of something being built up. We see, then, that instruction is something that you receive on the inside to build you up. Instruction is not something weak but it is mighty and has multiple functions as you apply it to your life. Proverbs 4:13 says, “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.” When you get instruction from God and His word, it will give you support for real life. |
