The Church in Pergamos

The third church that John wrote about in Revelation 2 is the Church in Pergamos (Rev. 2:12-17). The church in Pergamos was right in the middle of Satan’s kingdom, but they still had the name of Jesus! Still, there were some that weren’t right with God. They had the things of the world infiltrate the church with their beliefs about medicine and exercise. If you defied what the doctors said, you would have the same deadly fate as the martyr Antipas (Rev. 2:13). Though the church in Pergamos had the name, some people allowed others to dwell among them that held different doctrines. God instructed them to REPENT, “… or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth” (Rev. 2:16). There is so much to learn from the church in Pergamos!
