We Need God’s Help

In Proverbs 3:5-6, we see Solomon emphasizing the importance of prayer when it comes to our plans. We are to trust Him, lean not on our own understanding, and acknowledge Him in all of our ways.
Not only should we go to God to understand His Word, but we should also go to Him pertaining to every area of our lives. We have to invite God into our ways and our paths. Why make plans without Him when the Bible tells us that when we pray, not only will He hear us but He will give us the direction that we need! Want understanding? Ask for it! Our natural man can’t understand God or His word its own. 1 Corinthians 2:14 lets us know that the things of God are spiritually discerned. Through our soul or psyche we cannot comprehend spiritual things; we have to go back to the One who wrote it and who can open up our understanding. Proverbs 4:7 also teaches us that wisdom is the principal thing. This means that when we ask, He won’t think any less of us because we asked for wisdom.

If you want to know God’s way and His path, get the right direction or instruction, and truly understand His word, make sure you take the time to pray! He hears and helps when we do.
