Short Answer: Do numbers matter in the Bible? What do 7, 8, and 9 mean?
Excerpt from Chapter 34 of Born of Water, p. 259-261:
“In the Book called The Revelation, the Apostle John offers great insight into Bible interpretation. He shared that numbers have great significance and can be used to gain better ‘Understanding‘ of the Bible. I’m not talking Astrology, Eight Ball, Lucky Numbers, or Ouija Boards – all of which are a form of witchcraft and can take your soul to hell (Deut. 18:9-14; Gal. 5:19-21; Rev. 21:8). Not using numbers to govern your life. That’s dead wrong! But the 4th book in the Bible is called Numbers; God refers to numbers throughout the Bible; and there is great ‘UNDERSTANDING’ taught by them (Rev. 13:18)…
For example, the number ‘7’ depicts being finished. Thus the Bible says on Day 7 God ‘ended’ His work (Gen. 2:2). God did not quit; rather, He finished it to its full completion. God could have quit on the 6th Day, having created ‘every thing’ in Heaven and Earth and declared it was ‘very good’ (Gen. 1:31; Exo. 20:11); but instead He deemed it necessary to make a 7th Day, which was the Sabbath Day (Exo. 20:11; Mark 2:27)…
The significance just demonstrated using the #7 is verbally conveyed in Revelation 13:17-18, where The Apostle John shared that Biblical wisdom is when the reader converts names to numbers and counts to gain understanding –
Rev. 13:17 – And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
What man says is foolishness and an absolute waste of time, God says, ‘Here is wisdom.’ What man says is hocus pocus and foo-foo dust, using a calculator while studying the Word of God, God calls it ‘understanding.’ …”
