Fact #14: Good
God’s definition of “good” can sometimes feels bad!
| God’s picture of “good” is different from our definition. We tend to think of the word good as total pleasantness, no pain, no suffering, no bad or evil being present. However God’s idea of good includes doing what’s necessary to bring about a change. This is why the psalmist said, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes” (Psa. 119:71). That affliction caused the psalmist to learn the laws of the Lord. That was a picture of goodness. Romans 2:4 says, “The goodness of God leadeth to repentance.” Sometimes, it takes God’s goodness which may look like pressure, suffering, or affliction to us, in order to bring about a change in our life. Look through a different lens with the understanding that you get from this video to see the good that God has allowed to happen in your life. |
