The Introduction – Part 2

We saw in The Introduction – Part 1 video the goal of the scripture. The word Revelation speaks of an uncovering. Jesus, the one who gave the word, is described in Revelation 1:8 as “…the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” This scripture addresses Him in the past, present, and future. He gave John instructions to write to the 7 churches, saying, “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter” (Rev. 1:19). In Isaiah 57:15 we see that the Lord inhabiteth eternity, so He has already seen what John is writing about. He instructs him to write so that we can learn from the experiences of the 7 churches, how to avoid doing wrong and how to keep doing right.
